Some say that Robin Hood never existed. That his adventures in Sherwood Forest and his skirmishes with the wicked Sheriff of Nottingham were just folk tales, told at bedtime to wide-eyed children on cold winter nights. But Robin Hood was as real as any legend can be and he still lives on today in the hearts of those who believes that bullies must be confronted and goodness will always prevail against evil forces. Before becoming the famous outlaw, Robin was a rich Earl, living in Locksley castle. When the greedy Sheriff stole Robin’s castle, lands and his fiancée The Lady Marian, Robin escaped to the forest, formed a loyal band of followers and struck back at the Sheriff at every opportunity. He robbed rich merchants foolish enough to pass through the forest and gave the proceeds to the poor people of Nottinghamshire.Kept prisoner in the Sheriff’s castle, Marian and her old friend and companion Nurse Nora Knickerbocker are told by Petunia Petal the Forest Fairy about a secret tunnel that leads under the moat and emerges on the edge of the forest. This allows Marian to visit Robin at night and pass on the Sheriffs plans to capture Robin, which is why the outlaw is always one jump ahead of the Sheriff.
